Qantas Club Lounges New Zealand

Managing a nationwide upgrade of airline passenger lounges in New Zealand.

Bureau Veritas was appointed Project Manager to manage the nationwide refurbishment of four Qantas Club Lounges across four ports in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Auckland included both domestic and international lounges.

The construction work varied across all ports. The purpose of the refurbishment was to ensure that the airport lounges are consistent across the Qantas brand in New Zealand and Australia. Bureau Veritas was responsible for delivering the scope of works, co-ordinating any outstanding development issues, administering the construction contract and managing internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.

Qantas’ Property Development Division requested Bureau Veritas to source and appoint a team to design and construct the project. Each port was completed to the given timeframes and delivered under budget given the cost value exercise implemented by the team.

Note: APP Corporation Pty Limited (The APP Group) was initially contracted for this project. The APP Group was acquired by Bureau Veritas in December 2024.
