Rolling out a nationwide electrical safety program in New Zealand.
The Progressive Electrical Safety Upgrade project was a safety focused electrical upgrade to 144 Progressive owned supermarkets throughout New Zealand. This involved the coordination, management and delivery of the project and the required actions to achieve compliance with the latest Woolworths supermarket Electrical Specification and Australian / New Zealand Standards.
The 144 supermarket sites were spread on the North and South Islands of New Zealand with some in remote locations. The significant challenge was to maintain the consistency of the works across the portfolio in the allotted timeframe. Bureau Veritas had to work concurrently with other refurbishment / IT upgrades that were undertaken by Progressive during the project.
Note: APP Corporation Pty Limited (The APP Group) was initially contracted for this project. The APP Group was acquired by Bureau Veritas in December 2024.
