Transforming Australian schools to meet 21st century standards.
The Building the Education Revolution program was designed to provide modern and redeveloped infrastructure to all eligible Australian schools as part of the Australian Government's economic stimulus plan, a response to the global financial crisis.
In 2009, Bureau Veritas was appointed projects part of the Building Education Revolution program in three different states: Melbourne, New South Wales and Western Australia.
The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development engaged Bureau Veritas to be the Project Manager of the program in Melbourne's Southern Metropolitan and Gippsland regions. The $649 million program covered works in 280 schools with our team of project managers, architects, engineers and technical specialists who tendered and overlooked the construction of new facilities, refurbishments and relocation of buildings.
The Catholic Education Office (Wollongong) appointed our team to manage the design and construction management and provide strategic advisory for 28 projects in NSW. The scope included new multi-purpose halls, libraries, classrooms and an administration area.
In Perth, the WA Department of Treasury and Finance appointed Bureau Veritas to project manage the Building Education Revolution Elent 2 Program. The program focused on $30m upgrades to Science Laboratories at 20 schools across the state and required the coordination of 8 separate Architectural Consultants.
Note: APP Corporation Pty Limited (The APP Group) was initially contracted for this project. The APP Group was acquired by Bureau Veritas in December 2024.
