820 Whitehorse Road

Delivering a landmark mixed-use development in Melbourne's burgeoning Box Hill. 

In 2016, developer Long River Group made plans to develop a high-rise residential tower at820 Whitehorse Road in the thriving suburb of Box Hill. The 100m high 30-storey tower was to include a grided timber podium, residential amenities such as a 60sqm pool, outdoor seating and landscaping, casual and formal dining spaces, theatre, gym, and sauna. 

Bureau Veritas was engaged by Long River Group as the Development Manager and Project Manager for the 820 Whitehorse Road development project. The project team defined the project, briefed and procured the design team, and managed and coordinated the design process through to the lodgement of the Planning Permit application. 

As Principal Consultant, Bureau Veritas led and managed the entire design and engineering consultants in the Design Development phase, which included managing the planning approval process. As Development Manager, Bureau Veritas managed the marketing component for the project in two key aspects: 

  • engaging marketing agents to develop the brand of the product, and 
  • procuring suitable contractors to deliver the award-nominated display suite. 

Note: APP Corporation Pty Limited (The APP Group) was initially contracted for this project. The APP Group was acquired by Bureau Veritas in December 2024.
