2015 Pacific Games
Support the fifteenth edition of Oceania's quadrennial sporting competition.
The Pacific Games is a major sporting event welcoming 4,000 athletes and officials from 24countries around the Pacific region. The 2015 Pacific Games were to be held in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. A capital works program including a new Games Village, Aquatic Complex and Stadia needed to be completed prior to the Games as part of the preparations for the 28 sporting competitions, opening and closing ceremonies, and cultural programs.
Bureau Veritas was appointed in 2014 to assist the Games Organising Committee with general venue readiness and planning advice for procurement, venue commissioning, overlay and workplace, health and safety planning for the event. In the weeks leading up to the Games, Bureau Veritas's project team provided on the ground site management assistance including supervision and works coordination for contractors and volunteers, together with spectator services and event operations assistance.
Note: APP Corporation Pty Limited (The APP Group) was initially contracted for this project. The APP Group was acquired by Bureau Veritas in December 2024.
